Widodo Noor Slamer was born in Jogjakarta and young Wid was very affectionate of arts. He adored traditional dances and musics, theater plays, and drawings. He created sculptures and reliefs, even children toys. His creative naughtiness was evident when one day he made ghost figure that scared off people in his village. Wid married Suradinah, one of his dance student and continued his works in arts. Wid later joined Hasmi, who became his best friend, in drawing comics.

Initially drew martial arts comics, Wid created his first superhero comics, Aquanus in 1968 and then Godam in 1969. He published the comics under the name of Wid NS. To take care of his family of 5 children, Wid also illustrated various children magazine as well as comic strips in Javanese magazine.

Wid NS passed away on 24 December 2003. Sungging, his eldest son continues his legacy in comic creations. Wid in his own words: “People who enjoys my drawings never know how much I was paid. If a drawing was tried to be defined by its price, it will never reflect the true meaning and professionalism of the artist behind it.”
