Declaration of AKSI: Komik As One of the Basic Pillars of Creative Economy
The current Indonesian comic explosion proves that comics have great potential to be the basic pillar of creative economy in Indonesia.

After the comic of Juki successfully adapted into a film that was watched by 700,000 spectators in the cinema as well as the announcement of the legendary comedy movie Gundala by the famous director Joko Anwar, Indonesian comics will declare the next contribution to the creative world of water that is ACTION.
AKSI (Indonesian Comic Association) is an association established by Intellectual Property managers in Indonesia focusing on comic media; Bumilangit (owner of legendary local comic strips like Si Buta, Gundala, Godam, etc.), PIONICON (The Juki), Octopus Garden (Mice Cartoon), Infia (Komikin Ajah), FranKKomiK (Street Devils), Skylar Comics (Volt & Valentine ), Ciayo Comics (Heartbeat & Blue Serenade), re: ON Comics (Grand Legend Ramayana & Galauman), Cosmic (Manungsa & Wanoja) and Padma Pusaka Nusantara (Nusa Five).
In the last 2 years there has been an explosion of Indonesian comics. The development of digital technology provides great opportunities that drive the explosion. Currently, 13 million people read Indonesian comics daily through mobile phones. Comic fans can now read Indonesian comics three times a day, during lunch, afternoon when they go home and before bed. More than 100 Indonesian comic titles release weekly every day of the year in various comic and social media apps, in stark contrast to the 10 years ago when the number of local comics published could possibly be counted on the fingers of one hand.
The acceleration of the Indonesian Comics industry is also accompanied by new challenges. Therefore, the AKSI is present to anticipate the challenge. The establishment of SCAI also aims to build the ecosystem of comic industry in Indonesia so that Indonesian Comics can be part of the National Cultural Strategy in the international sphere.
The AKSI founding declaration will take place on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the SCBD Swillhouse and will present Triawan Munaf as the Chairman of the Creative Economy Agency (BEKRAF) of Indonesia as well as perpetrators in the comic industry such as Iwan Nazif, Faza Meonk, Franki Indrasmoro S, Marcelino Lefrandt, Mice Misrad, Sweta Kartika, and a number of other comic a
