| NONO GM

Nono GM was born Gun Mardiono, in Jogjakarta. The eldest of six siblings who all loved to draw, only Nono who was focus in creating comics. Nono went to school at SESSRI (Sekolah Seni Rupa Indonesia) to enrich his knowledge in comic arts.

In 1975, Nono created a comic with a female superhero, Tira, as its lead character. This marked Nono first career in comics drawing. In 1989, Nono had a stroke that immobilized his right hand. Nonetheless, Nono amazingly still continued drawing using his left hand. He drew illustrations for school books and local newspaper.

In 1999, Nono passed away.
